When you provide logistical support for one of the UK’s largest frozen food retailers you need a fleet of materials handling equipment that you can rely on - without the fear of being left out in the cold.
That’s why Link Logistics, one of the country’s largest third party distribution providers; relies on Calor, the UK’s largest supplier of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) to power its fleet of Linde forklift trucks.
When it comes to running a 24 hour logistics operation, no one in the UK is more experienced than Link Logistics. From its central England distribution hub in Solihull, West Midlands, Link provides logistical support for Farm Foods, handling and distributing approximately 30,000 cases of food every day to its retail outlets.
Integral to this logistics chain are the Calor powered, Linde forklift trucks, which are responsible for feeding the packing lines with pallets. Selected for their handling capabilities and 24 hour, seven days a week availability, the LPG fork trucks are ideal for outside yard work conditions.
Julian Hill, facilities manager explains: "We needed machines that could work outside and be able to operate comfortably over the uneven ground. The LPG trucks provide the flexibility and reliability needed for this 24 hour operation."
